In the 1930s you could still see children here with watering cans and carts full of cooked white laundry. In May 2019, the people of Wackerheim celebrated the inauguration of their "new" bleaching facility: for two and a half years, the two springs were renatured, tons of earth were moved, the bleaching house renovated and a stream laid out.
