Road movie "Experience Rheinhessen"

The protagonists Uschi from Mainz and Lennart from Berlin are out and about in Rheinhessen. You enjoy the wine adventure landscape and explore the Rhine-Hessian way of life and lifestyle in your Bulli. A road movie with many stories about wine, country and people!

Rheinhessen-Touristik GmbH and Rheinhessenwein eV have sent the two protagonists on a journey through Germany's largest wine-growing region, Rheinhessen.

In seven episodes designed as a road movie, the Rheinhessen cultural and wine ambassador shows the Berlin reporter the diversity and lifestyle of one of the most beautiful regions of Rhineland-Palatinate.

The journey takes them from Mainz to Ingelheim am Rhein via Dienheim, Oppenheim, Guntersblum, Flörsheim-Dalsheim, Worms, Flonheim, Alzey, Bingen and Siefersheim.

At all stations and destinations you will meet winegrowers, hosts and restaurateurs from the Rhine-Hesse region and enjoy the regional lifestyle.

If you want to "experience Rheinhessen", you should go on a discovery tour with Uschi and Lennart and not miss any series.

Episode 1 | Weck, Worscht & Woi

The journey through Rheinhessen by Uschi and Lennart starts in the state capital Mainz. Lennart gets to know the Rheinhessen national dish "Weck, Worscht & Woi" at the Mainz market breakfast. He also enjoys the wide variety of wines from the region. By the way, Uschi gives him a small language course in "rhoihessisch".

Episode 2 | Bike paths, panoramic views & delicacies

In episode 2, Uschi and Lennart explore Nierstein and the surrounding area by bike, because the Rheinhessen region is best experienced via the bike and hiking trails. The famous Rote Hang with its excellent Rieslings and the fantastic view from the Brudersberg should not be missing on the tour of the two.

The organic winemaker Stephan Sander from Mettenheim shows Uschi and Lennart what distinguishes his organic wine from the Rhine-Hesse region. From there, the two of them travel to Worms and experience the legend of the Nibelungs at the annual festival.

This time Uschi and Lennart will travel to Flörsheim-Dalsheim. There Lennart got to know Rheinhessen winegrowers' sparkling wine and what distinguishes it from French champagne. Then continue to Alzey. In the Vinothek Rheinhessen on the Roßmarkt, the two try a Scheureben wine. The day ends with a fantastic panoramic view from the Flonheimer Trullo.

Bingen am Rhein, the gateway to the Unesco World Heritage Site Upper Middle Rhine Valley, cannot be missed on Uschi and Lennart's journey through the Rheinhessen wine experience landscape. Lennart is particularly impressed by the Ingelheimer Winzerkeller, the new centerpiece for wine experiences in the red wine town on the Rhine. In Engelthal Abbey you can find out about the origin of the Rhine-Hessian maxims. Uschi and Lennart end the day with "Burgberg Under Vibes" and enjoy the modern and special flair of the Ingelheim wine…

During their hike on the Hiwweltour Heideblick, Uschi and Lennart get directly to the Weinberger and are allowed to help with the Silvaner grape harvest. After the grape harvest, the two of them return to the Winzeralm. There the two of them review their tour again, because the journey through the Rheinhessen wine experience landscape now ends.
