The Ajaxturm, referred to in 1865, stands in the area "Heerkretz". The legendary vineyard tower, unusual in size and shape, is featured in the coat of arms of Siefersheim. The following story is told about the origin of the Ajaxturm: At the beginning of the 19th century, there lived in Siefersheim a wealthy farmer's son, handsome in appearance and an agile dancer. When he walked through the streets, many shy glances from girls followed him. The daughter of the miller from the "Katzensteiger" mill was also in love with him. The girl's affection was reciprocated. However, the stubborn miller was against a union. Years ago, he had lost a lawsuit against the father of the young man. Therefore, the daughter was married off to a wine merchant and soon died of a broken heart. The young man, however, remained unmarried. At the spot where he once met his beloved, he had a tower built. The dog in the later coat of arms reminds us of the loyal "Tiras," who accompanied the lovebirds on their walks. He is the symbol of fidelity until death.
