The present street “An der Burgkirche” between the market place and Burgkirche was formerly known as Kirchgasse (Church Alley). There a remarkable collection of mainly baroque buildings has been almost completely preserved. Typical examples are the butcher’s house and the protestant parish house. Especially imposing is house , which derives from 1740, in which a kindergarten has been located since 1952. It has a high mansard roof, stone window cladding and so-called ear-frames, an artistically wrought iron basket balcony railing and an outside staircase at the front side. The classicistic door, from about 1790 is decorated with a medallion of Caesar’s head.

One of the oldest framework houses in Rheinhessen is reportedly the former tavern “Zum Schwanen” (The Swan)  which was documented in this location. as early as1450 Its significant late gothic framework construction presumably dates back to the early 16th century. The baroque entrance is dated 1736.
