Hidden in idyllic gardens lies the Rechenborn spring, a place with history and special significance. Before modern water supply systems existed, springs were invaluable to the villages and secured daily life.
In the year 1760, the Rechenborn spring received its characteristic three pipes, from which water still flows to this day. According to tradition, these three pipes symbolically represent the three religions – Protestants, Catholics, and Jews – that have shaped community life in Appenheim for a long time.
