“Look: People and their world! ...” – In the Paleolithic and Neolithic periods
Short lecture
In recent years, Dr. Isabel Kappesser, Museum bei der Kaiserpfalz, has created eight colorful and “busy” pictures together with Wiesbaden-based illustrator Michael Ruppel. With lots of loving details and little stories that make you smile, they take you on a journey through the last 100,000 years of Ingelheim's history.
The lecture will take a closer look at the first two epochs of the chronologically arranged series of pictures: In the Paleolithic Age, we visit the Neanderthals on the Mainz Mountain, while in the Neolithic Age, the focus is on the early farmers of Wackernheim. What did the Ingelheim region look like back then? And how did people live in those times? The vividly designed images immerse us in the latest research. At the same time, speaker Dr. Isabel Kappesser provides a glimpse “behind the scenes” into the creation of the works and reports on how some facts had to be “bent” slightly for the sake of presentation.
