Red Wine City Ingelheim meets Golden Mainz: with the Nostalgia Bus on a Cultural Enjoyment Tour
Ingelheim meets Mainz – from the Imperial City to the Old Town of Mainz
Experience a delightful journey on the traditional bus from Ingelheim to Mainz – two cities full of history, culture, and joy of life.
A fascinating story connects both cities: Thanks to the clever and Francophile Anselm Franz von Ingelheim, Mainz was not destroyed by the French during the Palatine Succession War, but "only" plundered. The city was less fortunate in later times – particularly during World War II, when Mainz was severely damaged in 1945.
It is all the more impressive that the Old Town has managed to retain its special charm: winding alleys, picturesque squares, and historic buildings like the Cathedral and the St. John's Church at Leichhof, the Baroque Augustinian Church, as well as the idyllic Cherry Garden with its half-timbered houses invite you to discover and linger.
After these impressive moments, we will relax and unwind the trip – with a glass of wine and a small snack.
Afterward, the historic bus of the Traditionsbusfreunde Mainz e.V. will take you back to Ingelheim comfortably.
