Interactive Reading with Judith Merchant – "Apricot Child"

What happens when the audience decides how a story continues?
Judith Merchant reads from her new psychological thriller "The Apricot Child" – however, in a different way than at a regular reading: Only the first scene is set. After that, the audience determines which track to follow, which door to open, and which clue to trust.

Nathalie finally has the life she has always longed for: a house in the countryside, a husband, and her daughter Ruby, for whom she had to wait long. But since the move, strange things have been happening. Doors and windows suddenly stand open, other parents behave strangely, and Nathalie begins to doubt her own perception. Then Ruby paints a picture that changes everything.

For this special event format, Judith Merchant has written new scenes that are not included in the book. After each reading passage, the audience can choose from three options and thereby determine the further course of the story.

In total, twelve different variants of the reading are possible – and which one will be performed that evening is decided solely by the audience.

A thrilling evening about maternal love, family secrets, and the dark sides of an apparently idyllic world. And of course about the question: How far would you go to preserve your happiness?

Look forward to a reading where you not only listen but also become part of the story.
