Night at the Museum
“Let there be light!”
Flashlight Tour for Families
Once it’s dark outside, we’ll embark on an exciting journey through the history of light and discover how people have been conquering the darkness for millennia. By the light of our flashlights, we’ll follow in the footsteps of our ancestors—from the first fire pits of the Stone Age to the Roman oil lamp, the “flashlight of antiquity,” all the way to torches on Franconian farms and precious candles in Charlemagne’s palace. Original artifacts, vivid reconstructions, and models literally bring bygone eras to life. Feel free to bring your own flashlights.
