public finissage tour: palace - ruin - monument 24.10.2026

on 24.10.2026 from 14:00 to 15:30 o'clock

Closing tour for the exhibition "Palace - Ruin - Monument"

The Imperial Palace is celebrating an anniversary! 25 years ago, the throne hall of Charlemagne was opened to the public for the first time. The Aula regia was the first monument of the Archaeological Zone made accessible to tourism and marked the beginning of the renovation of the residential area and the opening up of further monument areas.

On this occasion, the Research Center Imperial Palace is hosting a temporary outdoor special exhibition in the Archaeological Zone dedicated to this anniversary. The tour offers an in-depth look and exciting stories about the development of the Imperial Palace from a medieval palace to a ruin and ultimately to the most significant monument in the city.
