Against (almost) everything, a herb has grown
The Hildegard medicine still has many followers today.
But what is behind the medicinal plants known in the Middle Ages? Why did Charlemagne issue administrative regulations that governed the cultivation of useful plants? And what does this have to do with monastery gardens?
On a journey of discovery in the Ingelheim region, you will learn about the extensive knowledge that Charlemagne and Hildegard of Bingen had about medicinal and useful plants and their indispensable use, origin, and significance in the Christian faith.
We will take you to places that hardly any Ingelheimer knows.
