Shards Bring Good Luck: Roman-Era Ceramic Puzzles

Under the motto “Shards Bring Good Luck,” visitors of all ages can explore Roman ceramics in free creative workshops from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. In the museum courtyard, piles of shards will be transformed into Roman vessels:

In a hands-on workshop, children have the opportunity to piece together individual ceramic shards into various Roman vessels step by step, under the expert guidance of museum educators. In the process, they learn how researchers approach their “puzzle work” with ancient objects and what fascinating information can be hidden even in the smallest clay fragments.

The museum is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with free admission. All events for International Museum Day are free of charge.
