Emperor Charlemagne brought the first Burgundy vines to Ingelheim. Since then, wine culture has been lived in the Ingelheim region. The local winegrowers are particularly fond of the red grapes, because it is not for nothing that Ingelheim is also called the red wine town. For Rhenish-Hessian conditions, almost 50 percent of the area is planted with red vines.

Pinot Noir, Silvaner and Co.

Fruity and multifaceted, sometimes capricious and difficult to tame for winegrowers and wine lovers - that is the Pinot Noir. Together with the Frühburgunder, it accounts for 21 percent of the red grape varieties in Ingelheim. There are also other grape varieties in the Ingelheim wine region, from classics to new and unusual varieties.
