The bus tour starts at 10 a.m. at the Ingelheim wine cellar with a welcome sparkling wine in the wine shop and a short tour of the ‘Cellar Comrades’ exhibition. The post bus then sets off in the direction of Bingen. On the way, the Rhine-Hessian culture and wine ambassadors provide interesting background information on history, nature and, of course, the excellent wines from the region. Around midday, the group will enjoy a three-wine tasting at the Michel winery in Bingen, followed by lunch at the Bingen Vinothek with magnificent views of the Rheingau and the Bingen Mäuseturm. Well fortified, the nostalgic bus then takes guests up to Bingen's Rochusberg, where they can enjoy a walk with marvellous views of the Rhine Valley. Via the Laurenziberg and the Jakobsberg (with a wine stop at the Lich winery), guests return to the starting point at the Ingelheim wine cellar.
The tour with the historic post bus is organised by Ingelheimer Kultur und Marketing GmbH (IkUM) and Bingen Tourismus & Kongress GmbH (www.dein-bingen.de).
