Open Monument Day 2025 at the Imperial Palace and Museum

On Sunday, 14 September 2025, the 32nd Open Monument Day will take place with numerous events throughout the country. In Ingelheim, the monuments in the Kaiserpfalz Archaeological Zone will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on 14 September.

The museum at the Imperial Palace will also be open between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., with free admission on this day. In addition, there will be special guided tours: the free public short tours of the highlights of the Imperial Palace will begin at 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. and will last approximately 45 minutes each. The meeting point is the museum at the Imperial Palace, François-Lachenal-Platz 5. The tour of Charlemagne's palace then begins there.

This year, the Nieder-Ingelheim Kerb festival will once again take place on the same weekend in the Imperial Palace area. This means that a visit to the monument can be easily combined with a leisurely stroll through the Kerb festival. The church service in the Saalkirche begins at 11 a.m., and from 12 noon onwards, the Kerb will offer all kinds of savoury and sweet treats as well as live music. The palace area will be closed to through traffic on 14 September.
