After last year's successful premiere, the ‘Tassilo’ tourist wine stand on the banks of the Rhine in Ingelheim is opening again this year. The second season kicks off on Thursday, 8 May.
From 5 pm, Ingelheimer Kultur und Marketing GmbH (IkUM) invites you to the first Wine Tasting 2025. The pavilion on the Rhine is a contact point for tourists who are looking for information about Ingelheim or want to find out about cycling and hiking tours. Free information material from the Ingelheim tourist information centre - such as town maps, cycling and hiking maps - is available at the ‘Tassilo’.
The wine tasting stand on the banks of the Rhine is open Thursdays to Saturdays from 5 pm to 10 pm and Sundays from 3 pm to 9 pm during the summer season and adds another piece of the mosaic to the tourist offer in the red wine town. The ‘Tassilo’ on the banks of the Rhine in Ingelheim is an attractive meeting point for walkers and hikers as well as cyclists travelling on the European long-distance cycle path. A detour to ‘Tassilo’ is of course also a good idea for day trippers travelling to Frei-Weinheim by ferry from the Rheingau. At the stand, you can sample selected wines from the Ingelheim wine shop and quench your thirst with a glass of water or grape juice on hot summer days. Small snacks help hikers and cyclists to recharge their batteries for the rest of the journey.
The ‘Tassilo’ is located on the paved area on the Jungau, where the stylised ‘Tassilo figures’ by sculptor Klaus Prior stand. The seven wooden sculptures tell the story of the trial of Bavarian Duke Tassilo III in the Ingelheim church in 788.
