The red wine town of Ingelheim am Rhein is one of the most multifaceted towns in Rheinhessen. Whether you are interested in culture, nature lovers or simply a connoisseur - in Ingelheim and the region, everyone comes together in one place.
Discover the cultural treasures of Charlemagne in the Ingelheim Imperial Palace, hop on your bike and explore the region on the many routes along the Rhine or lace up your hiking boots for a tour through the rolling hills in Germany's largest wine-growing region.
On the last weekend in July, the festival site on the banks of the Rhine in Ingelheim will once again become a magnet for anyone wishing to celebrate, relax and enjoy the summer together. From Friday 24 July to Sunday 26 July, the traditional Ingelheim Harbour Festival invites you to three lively days on the Jungau. Visitors can look forward to a varied programme featuring live music, arts and crafts, fairground rides and an exciting children’s programme. There will also be a tempting range of food and drink on offer, with something to suit every taste, from sweet to savoury.
On the final weekend of the summer holidays, the enchanted grounds of ‘Haus Burggarten’ in Ober-Ingelheim will once again serve as the grand stage for a special communal musical experience: on Saturday 8 August and Sunday 9 August, Ingelheimer Kultur und Marketing GmbH (IkUM) invites you to the popular family music festival ‘Töne & TamTam’.
Imperial charm meets art and culture: this summer, the Aula Regia in the Imperial Palace at Ingelheim will once again become a magical destination for culture lovers. The summer cultural series “Künste & Klänge” will take place from 14 to 16 August in the former throne room of Charlemagne. During the three-day open-air series, the audience can look forward to performances by Pe Werner, “Frommermann” (The Dutch Harmonists) and Stefan Jürgens.
On 4 and 5 July 2026, the motto in Ingelheim will be: discover, taste and enjoy! The Maxime Open, Rheinhessen’s largest wine tasting event, is coming to the ‘Red Wine Town’. Over 50 wineries from across Rheinhessen will be presenting their wines at the seven host wineries in Ingelheim.
What makes it special: instead of a traditional wine fair, visitors can look forward to a relaxed ‘winery hop’. Whether on a wine walk or by shuttle bus, you can travel comfortably from station to station – entirely at your own pace and with plenty of opportunities for personal conversations with the winemakers.
