Kelvin Jones Live on Tour 2024

Kelvin Jones is one of the biggest music stars the internet has produced in recent years. A friend posted his song "Call You Home" on the internet portal Reddit.com in January 2014, where it was viewed over a million times within 24 hours. That was the beginning of a story that only the present can write. The song was discovered and played by the editors of "Good Morning America". Almost overnight, Kelvin recruited an army of followers - all the major international record companies wanted to sign him as a result.

Kelvin Jones is a fan of B.B. King, Buddy Guy and John Mayer. His songs are a perfect blend of blues and infectious pop. "Of course I know the music of Robert Johnson and Charlie Patton," says Kelvin in the interview, "but the monotony of the old Delta blues makes me impatient. I love it melodic. B.B. King is my biggest influence because he never plays a note too much on the electric guitar - and at the same time has wrested the most beautiful melodies from the blues scheme."

Despite his young age, Kelvin Jones is already a formidable minimalist. He sings with a soulful voice, his melodies are as catchy as they are indulgent, and yet he plays without any ornamentation or eclectic embellishments. He has an astonishingly disarming explanation for this: "I'm also a fan of Michael Jackson. In his three-minute pop songs, he was able to amalgamate verse, bridge and chorus into masterpieces of catchiness."

"This Too Shall Last", Kelvin Jones' second album, which was released in spring 2022, provides answers to questions he has asked himself: Who am I actually? And why do I make music at all? Some of the songs are quiet and show Kelvin Jones' roots, while others show a different side to Kelvin Jones.
Namely the phase of DJ collaborations and the fun he had performing these dance-pop songs on stage. The album is a reflection of the highs and lows, the successes, but also the setbacks of the last few years. And after studio sessions and deadlines, pressure of expectation and self-doubt, Kelvin Jones has finished "Cry A Little Less", a song that has stayed with him longer than any other - and with the finished song, the burden has also fallen from Kelvin's shoulders.
