Sebastian Baum, with the support of his family, is the fourth generation to run the winery, which was founded in 1928. In 2013, he was awarded best young winemaker in theory and practice. The Braunewell winery is located in the Selztal in Essenheim in Rhenish Hesse. The family-run winery around the brothers Christian and Stefan manages the Essenheimer Blume and Essenheimer Teufelspfad vineyards, among others, and is a member of Maxime Herkunft Rheinhessen, Fair`n`Green and Sektmacher.
