Free GardenING seed packets in retail stores

Free seed packets with a planting calendar are now available to take away from many Ingelheim shops. The free packets from Ingelheimer Kultur und Marketing GmbH (IkUM) contain basil seeds that can be sown in the planting tray on the windowsill, in balcony boxes or in the garden. The combi-packs are also distributed in day-care centres, among other places.

With the set of seed bags and planting calendar, IkUM is drawing attention to the garden sales exhibition GardenING, which will take place at the Jungau at the beginning of June. The plant pyramids on the square in front of the kING (Kultur- und Kongresshalle Ingelheim) also herald the premiere of GardenING.

The first Ingelheim garden sales exhibition will take place on Saturday, 8 June and Sunday, 9 June. The motto is "Urban Gardening". For two days, the Jungau on the banks of the Rhine in Ingelheim will be transformed into a colourful sea of flowers and plants. Regional and national exhibitors will present a colourful range of plants and garden design. From roses, perennials and fruit trees to wild herbs, aromatic and climbing plants, balcony plants, flower bulbs and seeds, there is something for garden lovers of all ages. GardenING also presents high-quality garden furniture, unusual accessories, practical garden tools and fine arts and crafts.

If you want to turn your own garden or balcony into a blooming oasis, GardenING is the right place for you. Visitors can find inspiration for creative garden design on the extensive exhibition grounds and find out about current trends such as urban gardening and sustainable gardening. Garden professionals will provide tips on all aspects of flowering phases, watering and care. Whether lush variety or understated elegance - at GardenING you can get everything you need to turn your home garden into a picturesque dream or retreat. The range extends from practical climbing aids, original vintage decorations, handmade wickerwork and stylish fire pots to natural cosmetics, juices, oils and natural products from the farm shop. The repair café of the multi-generation centre offers a practical repair service for broken garden tools.

TV gardening expert Heike Boomgaarden will act as curator of the first Ingelheim garden sales exhibition and will provide expert guidance for the event on the banks of the Rhine. The GardenING offer is rounded off by a varied supporting programme consisting of specialist lectures, nature tours and hands-on activities for children.

"GardenING" is open on Saturday, 8 June, from 10 am to 6 pm and on Sunday, 9 June, from 11 am to 6 pm. Tickets are available at the box office on the exhibition grounds. The day ticket costs 9 euros (reduced 6 euros), the two-day ticket is available for 15 euros. Children up to the age of 12 are admitted free of charge.
