Event highlights IkUM 2024

For 2024, IkUM (Ingelheimer Kultur und Marketing GmbH) has once again put together an attractive and diverse event package. In addition to established indoor and outdoor events, there will also be new projects and formats in Ingelheim next year. One can be particularly excited about the premiere of the garden sales exhibition “GardenING”, which will take place on the second weekend in June (June 8th and 9th, 2024) at Jungau. Here is an outlook for the 2024 event year:

Ingelheim Jazz Night 2024 with Wolfgang Haffner and the state youth jazz orchestra “Phoenix Foundation” (Saturday, January 13, 2024)

The Ingelheim Jazz Night will be celebrating its third edition in 2024. This time Germany's most renowned jazz drummer Wolfgang Haffner is there. On January 13th, from 8 p.m., he will be on stage together with the state youth jazz orchestra “Phoenix Foundation” in the kING (Ingelheim Culture and Congress Hall). Immediately after the main concert, the “Late Night Sessions” start with further concerts. The audience is invited to listen to stylistically very different jazz concerts at four unusual venues. Manuel Seng can be heard in the Piano Lounge in the Great Hall from 10 p.m., while the Duo LeDazzo transforms the seminar rooms into a vibrant jazz club. The quartet Famdüsax , which will play in the foyer (1st floor), demonstrates entertainer qualities. Under no circumstances should you miss a visit to The Speedos , who can be seen and heard in the Stuhllager (UG) with a spirited stage show.

Concert Spring Ingelheim (Friday, March 15th, to Sunday, March 17th, 2024)
“Da Blechhauf’n” (Friday, March 15, 2024, 8 p.m.):
The Ingelheim concert spring starts on March 15 with “Da Blechhauf’n,” who have been among the most successful brass music artists in Austria for years. With their new program “Well Done”, the seven musicians serve up home-style polkas, poppy fast food, schmaltzy ballads, spicy farmer’s jazz and golden-brown breaded waltzes. Musically, the program ranges from brass music and vocal interludes to jazzy numbers and excellent arrangements of pieces from pop music. The evening is always livened up by cabaret acts and sketches.

“Celtic Baroque” with Dorothee Oberlinger, Vittorio Ghielmi and the Ensemble 1700 (Saturday, March 16, 2024, 8 p.m.) : “Celtic Baroque” is on the program for the spring concert on March 16th – that includes English, Irish and Scottish music 17th and 18th century England, which were influenced by traditional Celtic tunes. The recorder player and multiple ECHO Klassik award winner Dorothee Oberlinger, together with the exceptional gambist Vittorio Ghielmi and her Ensemble 1700, provides spirited insights into the music of this time. On this evening, the audience will be transported to elegant salons, but also to English, Scottish pubs and Irish inns.

Children's musical theater “Oh, how beautiful is Panama” (Sunday, March 17th, 11 a.m.) : At the end of the 2024 concert spring, the Poetenpack Theater is presenting an exciting theater afternoon with music for the whole family on March 17th. The program includes the children's musical theater piece “Oh, how beautiful is Panama” (based on the story by Janosch). The ensemble takes the audience on an adventurous journey around the world and tells a touching story about friendship. Marianne Terplan adapted Janosch's children's book, first published in 1978, for the stage.

Spring Wine Festival (Friday, April 26, to Sunday, April 28, 2024)
The 2024 outdoor season in Ingelheim starts at the end of April, a week earlier than usual, with the spring wine festival at the Ingelheimer Winzerkeller. The garden in front of the Ingelheimer Winzerkeller becomes an inviting festival area with a stage, comfortable lounge furniture and a red wine fountain. Excellent Ingelheim wines, culinary delicacies and a varied musical supporting program invite you to an atmospheric weekend of enjoyment at the wine cellar. A children's carousel will be set up for the little guests at the spring festival.

From 2024, the Spring Wine Festival will carry the “Excellent Wine Festival” seal of quality, which is awarded by “Rheinhessenwein” to outstanding wine festivals.
