Vinotheque in the Ingelheim wine cellar honoured once again / Outlook for 2024: from wine tasting to "Wine Nose Days"

Ingelheimer Kultur und Marketing GmbH (IkUM) is delighted to announce that the Ingelheim Vinothek has once again been honoured. The vinotheque in the Ingelheim Winzerkeller may continue to bear the "Rheinhessen AUSGEZEICHNET" seal of quality in the future.

"The jury visited us for a quality check in mid-November. We scored well again and have been recognised for another three years," says a delighted IkUM employee Kathrin Saaler, head of the Ingelheim wine shop and tourist information centre. The renewed certification reflects an impressive success story. The vinotheque in the historic wine cellar is not only a popular address for wine lovers, but also an attractive location for celebrations, events, media or corporate events. "We are also very satisfied with the great wine festival season," emphasises Kathrin Saaler. "It was fun to welcome so many wine connoisseurs to the red wine fountain at the Ingelheim Vinothek."

The success of the concept means that the network of Ingelheim vinotheque winegrowers continues to grow. From 1 January 2024, four new wineries will join the network: The Baum-Barth and Paul-Prieß wineries from Groß-Winternheim and the Huf winery from Nieder-Ingelheim will strengthen the network, as will the Rump winery from Heidesheim, which means that a winery from the Heidesheim district is now also on board for the first time. In total, the network now consists of 29 wineries and one distillery.

The Ingelheim vinotheque team is entering the new year with united forces and great vigour. "We are looking forward to the series of outdoor events - from the spring wine festival at the end of April to the aperitifs and the traditional harbour festival and red wine festival," says Kathrin Saaler. "And guests won't have to do without the Vinothek wine stand at the summer open-air event at the castle church either." The Vinothek will also be present at another major event on the first weekend in June on the Jungau on the banks of the Rhine in Ingelheim: the Vinothek will also be represented with a wine stand at the premiere of the garden sales exhibition "GardenING".

IkUM has developed another new format for 2024: the "Wine Nose Days", which will take place on Saturday, 6 April and Sunday, 7 April. Themed stands (for example "Burgundy", "Quality Pyramid" or "Sparkling") will be set up in the inner garden of the Winzerkeller, where visitors can taste selected wines. At workshops such as "Burgundy meets bread", "Wine and chocolate" or "Piwis meet cheese", guests will receive plenty of information on exciting topics relating to wine and enjoyment.

The series of popular wine tastings will also continue next year. "We have planned eight wine tastings for 2024," announces Kathrin Saaler. Two wineries will be competing on each date, offering participants perfect opportunities for comparison. Two newcomers to the vinotheque network will kick off 2024. The Paul-Prieß winery from Großwinternheim and the Rump winery from Heidesheim will be pouring their fine wines on Friday, 19 January. The next tasting duet with the Hamm winery from Ober-Ingelheim and Breidscheid from Großwinternheim will follow on Friday, 16 February 2024.

IkUM is also back on board as part of the Ingelheim International Days. Under the motto "Art & Wine", the vinotheque is offering two exquisite wine tastings in cooperation with Boehringer Ingelheim (Friday, 17 May and Friday, 24 May 2024).
